Scenario 1: Employee Self-Service Reset

If you have forgotten your password and cannot log in, you can reset it yourself:

  1. Go to the login page of KiDig.
  2. Click the "Forgot password?" link below the login form.
  3. Enter the email address associated with your KiDig account.
  4. Click "Send reset link." KiDig sends a password reset email to that address.
  5. Open the email and click the reset link. The link is valid for a limited time (typically 24 hours).
  6. Enter your new password and confirm it.
  7. Click "Save" or "Reset password." You can now log in with your new password.

Password Requirements

Your new password must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 8 characters
  • At least one uppercase letter
  • At least one lowercase letter
  • At least one number

Choose a password you do not use on other websites. A passphrase of several random words (e.g., "BlueSky-River-42") is both secure and easy to remember.

Scenario 2: Admin-Initiated Reset

Facility managers and admins can reset passwords on behalf of employees. This is useful when:

  • An employee does not have access to their email
  • The email address on file is outdated
  • An employee needs immediate access and cannot wait for the reset email

Steps for Admins

  1. Log in with your admin account.
  2. Navigate to Employee Management and select the employee.
  3. Look for the "Reset Password" or "Set Password" option in the employee's account settings.
  4. Enter a temporary password that meets the requirements above.
  5. Save the change.
  6. Communicate the temporary password to the employee via a secure channel (in person or by phone -- avoid sending passwords by email or chat).
  7. Ask the employee to change the password after their first login.

Troubleshooting: Reset Email Not Arriving

If the password reset email does not appear in your inbox:

  1. Check your spam/junk folder. Email filters sometimes catch automated messages.
  2. Wait a few minutes. Email delivery can be delayed, especially on shared hosting. Allow up to 10 minutes.
  3. Verify the email address. Make sure you entered the exact email address registered in KiDig. A typo means the email goes to the wrong address (or nowhere).
  4. Try again. You can request a new reset link. The previous link will be invalidated.
  5. Contact your facility admin. If the email still does not arrive, your admin can reset your password manually (see Scenario 2 above).
  6. Check with your IT department. Corporate email servers or firewalls may block automated emails from unfamiliar senders. Ask IT to whitelist KiDig's sending domain.

Security Tips

  • Never share your password with colleagues, even temporarily.
  • Log out when using shared devices (e.g., a facility tablet).
  • If you suspect someone else has access to your account, reset your password immediately and notify your facility admin.
