Two Ways to Define Daily Target Hours

KiDig supports two tariff models that control how an employee's weekly contracted hours are converted into a daily target. Choosing the right model is essential because it determines how overtime and undertime are calculated every single day.

Average Daily Hours (AVERAGE_DAILY)

This is the simpler model. KiDig divides the employee's weekly hours by the number of contracted workdays to produce a uniform daily target.

When to use it: Most Kita employees on standard TVöD contracts with no fixed shift pattern use this model. It is the default and works well whenever daily schedules vary week to week.

Framework Duty Plan (FIXED / Rahmendienstplan)

With a Rahmendienstplan, each weekday has its own specific target. For example, an employee might work 8 hours on Monday through Thursday and 7 hours on Friday, totalling 39 hours per week.

When to use it: Use this model when your facility operates with a fixed weekly roster, or when individual employees have contractually agreed specific hours per weekday. This is common in larger facilities or those with tight staffing schedules.

How to Configure

  1. Go to Tariff Settings in the administration area.
  2. Under Working Time Model, select either Average Daily or Framework Duty Plan.
  3. If you choose Framework Duty Plan, an additional form appears where you enter the target hours for each weekday (Monday through Saturday).
  4. Save your changes. KiDig recalculates all affected time balances automatically.

Tip: You can change the model at any time, but be aware that switching will recalculate all historical time data for employees on that tariff. Review balances after making a change.
